Looking for the positives!

I have had a bit of a poo few days, y'know those where pretty much everything is a bit wonky so looking for the positives...
There are now massive crumpets. Yeh, there's also crumpets thins, but nothing compares to a huge crumpet covered in real butter. You can even cheat and have two which really equates to four and then you can say "but I only had two crumpets" (we'll ignore that they're the size of a Frisbee).
I woke up from a dream that was a pretty bad one but when I woke up there were cats all over the bed. This is brilliant. Cats are great.
My boiler is broken. This on the whole sucks because even though it's June it's pretty cold but on the plus side the shower in the annex works so if I run fast enough through the garden I can get clean, even if it's at the expense of the neighbours seeing me naked.
It's June. It's cold. BUT you can still wear flip flops. No wasting vital seconds tying up shoelaces for me! Win.
I feel poorly...but not as poorly as yesterday thanks to the power of steroids. Sure, I have a face that can be mistaken for a frying pan, but hey, I feel better.
Because cake. Cake makes everything better. I even have a cake in the shape of a hedgehog and not many can say that, eh?
Elasticated trousers. How have I only just found the joys of pants that are comfortable? And if you wear a long top then nobody even knows! You can safely eaten aforementioned cake and your trews expand on command. Brilliant.

I've got up today and the plumbers are late so it's showering in the garden for me again, I've gone over my overdraft limit and the brakes on the car just failed and can't be fixed until next week so my dream of seeing the new Alice movie has been dashed.
So...positive time...I've food in the cupboard, I have a lovely family (that gladly survived the brakes failing earlier) and I may treat myself to a day off tomorrow!

Positives for you? This gorgeous new template
- and it's a fiver today as an intro price. (usual price a tenner) Hope you like it xx

GUEST ARTISTS WANTED!

Hello!
Would you like to be shown to over a quarter of a million people? Would you like to be part of the Paper Panda brand?
We are looking for 5 new guest artists that fit in with our theme to sell their work through our website.
This is no Etsy or Folksy, we are a small shop with a big reach looking for exactly the right things to fit in with our little woody, papery, crafty world.
We are looking for makers with a super fast turnaround, that can consistently make and deliver top quality products on a large scale, exclusive to us.
Do you have an unusual papercutting template, something different to what is already on the market? Do you have prints that you think would fit in with the style of Paper Panda? Can you make 5000 FBH's out of Fimo by next Tuesday? Well we might be looking for you!
All products must be CE tested where applicable, copyright friendly and be of a consistent quality. No papercuts please!
Please email your submissions to admin@paperpandacuts.co.uk by the 1st May 2016. We may not be able to answer you all, but we are very excited to see who we'll be working with!

New papercut jewellery!

Oooh, these are exciting!
Sarah Brooks Jewellery is our latest guest artist.
She makes papercuts from silver! Kind of... she uses an itty bitty saw to cut the designs from the metal, inspired by woodland animals and paper art.
We have six of the woodland pieces, and a beautiful heart with the initial of your choice.
They're just stunning, and each one is unique since they're cut by hand.

Some of the lovely ladies on my recent workshop commissioned a custom bracelet for me with an FBH charm, and I'm so in love with it!
What lovely people Panda fans are :)

Hope you all have had a great week! xx

Busy week.

This week has been one of those weeks, where after happily completing one task, I found myself straight into another :) Had some fantastic new experiences this week! I began work on the collaboration piece with The Firepit company :) I have started designing a collab piece which the amazingly talented Andrew will turn into a masterpiece!

After starting work on the firepit I turned my hand to packing and papercutting! Those are totally within my comfort zone! Got right back into the groove and I have to say I've missed it :) But then I decided I was going to get on with some serious housework. Safe to say this is not within my comfort zone haha! It seems I did such a fabulous job that I am no longer required to do the laundry :P It is a shame that we don't have a toddler because if I carry on washing ryans clothes we wouldn't need to buy them any clothes! Haha, whoops!

Easter has arrived, wow this year is going fast it will soon be christmas! Ha only kidding! But Easter is an eggciting time! All that chocolate nom nom nom...

So I had a bit of a ramble of my thoughts over on the PP page haha I'm certain you all think I am mad! But here it is :P Coke would be green if there wasn't any food colouring added. Why oh why would they choose to make it brown? Brown! The most uggh of colours. "I know, let's make it the shade of Mike's poo. That'll go down really well." No.
Can you see your own tongue? I can.
Do aliens exist? I really really really really did see a low flying spaceship when I was a teenager about 30 feet over me. It was the size of a stadium and took a good 10 minutes to fly out of sight. Why, then, does the person that what standing next to me not remember it? Am I just batcrap crazy? Actually, don't answer that.
"What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor?" has to be the most irresponsible song every invented.
What if the trees and plants outside consist entirely of stick insects that are just really good at doing their job?

Right I have an exclusive bit of news here! Look out tomorrow there is some eggstremely eggciting news! In fact there will be two big reveals :D Eek!

In the meantime here is a re-share of our 'All You Need Is Love' template! This is a freebie template and can be used for personal or commercial use! If you do use this for commercial use the only term for this is that a small donation is made to the Blue Cross animal charity please.

I'm not taking the pee...

So this week...
I got tagged in a video of a panda. (Don't do it, it's sweet but there is only so many pandas this momma bear can take!).
Got told by Royal Mail that I can save lots of pennies each year and get three extra hours worth of packing done per day by having my mail collected at 7pm. Win!
Received the most wonderful happy mail AND flowers all in one day.
Drank FF Coke that I found in the back of the fridge (shhh don't tell my doctor).
Had 98 light bulbs in the house changed for energy saving ones.
Cut Princess & The Pea 2 out of paper. With my eyes closed.
No, not really.
Listened to a lady telling me she doesn't like cats and dogs whilst looking at Roy. She's mysteriously missing now.
Fed the sheep in my town. ‪#‎township‬
Had curry soup for lunch.
Wore socks with robins on even though it's not Christmas. Lil' rebel.
Ignored my inboxes because there's too many.
Soz.

Not only this lot but this happened too haha!

Infill the Princess and the Pea cut with vintage book pages to accidentally infill it with the word urine! *FACEPALM* Haha! Wonder if this makes it more or less desirable? hehe!!

Panda hugs and Panda snogs :D xx

Seriously super exciting news!

Anyone here been waiting for news of the new book...?
wink emoticon
It is due for release in Sept 2016 and we have decided to take pre-orders now - and what's more, all pre-orders will be SIGNED!

The book begins with a design section taking you through a personal account of what inspires me, how I work, and how Paper Panda came about! The techniques involved in papercutting are explained with step-by-step demos, from the design process to the finished artwork.
There are 20 papercut projects in the book; five from moi and five each from three of my very favourite design colleagues (Sarah Trumbauer, Louise Dyer and Suzy Taylor). Each project will consist of a template (full-size) and detailed instructions. The designs will be simple enough for beginners, though attractive and interesting enough to inspire more advanced papercutters.

This is the only place to get your signed copy!

What's on my mind?..

What's on my mind?..

Well...After Norman Reedus got bitten by a fan at a photo op already this totally scuppers my plans to take a big chunk out of his ass over this weekend. Gutted. I'll just look like I'm copying. What does Norman's ass even taste like? Cake or sweaty farm boy?

My husband just told the cat to 'man up' because he has a meow like a pussy. Shall I tell him or will you?

It always seems to be a good idea to buy cheese until you've eaten the whole block. On its own. Again.

Is it safe to order from Ocado again? Is there still a lack of Coke in glass bottles? I just can't take the disappointment right now.

Does Munch know the difference between the 3 Ragdoll cats by the way they smell or look? They all look pretty much the same y'see. Do he just think it's ONE cat that moves around really fast?

Seeing as all of my cats look the same surely Mr P won't notice if I smuggle one more in? I'd call it God. God is a good name for a cat.

I've had both of the soft pillows now for 4 nights in a row. This is totally unheard of and if he wasn't here 24/7 I'd think he was up to something and feeling guilty. What have I done to deserve such comfort?

Why do people get upset when the squirrels take all the bird food? I get well excited when I see a squirrel. Birds? Not so much. As this is the case surely it should be a squirrel feeder instead?
Yes. It is now a squirrel feeder.

What day is it, anyway?..

Papercut Design Competition

This week has been all about INSPIRATION. We ran a papercut competition in our papercrafting group https://www.facebook.com/groups/PaperPandaPapercraft/?ref=bookmarks

The brief was simple. I created a basic tree shape, and I asked for our group members to interpret it however they wish. They could add bits, take bits away, go outside the lines or resize it. The idea was for those who don't usually create their own designs to try and push their limits. But this wasnt just for novices, we asked experienced designers to push their own limits and to have fun designing something new.

The mixture of designs was incredible. There was so much imagination put into each design and choosing two winners was incredibly hard. The designs ranged from trees, to fairies, to hot air balloons, animals, buildings and much much more. Here are the two designs that me and the admin team chose as our winners :) They stood out to us for many different reasons!

The Lighthouse was designed by Amy Ponting and the Playful Cat was designed by Lisa Watson.

Please join me in congratulating them! Well done to both of you! I cannot wait to see what you come up with next!

Some days you just have to create your own sunshine...

Bunny was grumbling to himself, "It's been so rainy and dull recently. My ears are all damp from the wet weather, my tail is cold... it's just no fun at all." He slumped down onto the wet grass, which stained his white belly fur an odd green colour. He let out a sigh.
Bird was watching from a nearby tree. He didn't like to see Bunny unhappy and cold, but he knew that bunnies couldn't fly up into the tree branches for shelter from the weather.
He had a plan.
He flew out of the tree, higher, higher into the sky. He closed his eyes as he flew bravely through the thick grey cloud. As he emerged from the cloud, he opened his eyes to see a beautiful blue sky with a lovely warm sun shining down. "Mr Sun!" he tweeted loudly. The sun with his jolly smiling face looked down at Bird. "Hello there Bird", Mr Sun replied, "I'm afraid I'm not having much luck today getting through these clouds, you'll have to take a little bit of sunshine with you!"
Mr Sun sent down some rays of warm sunlight. Bird gathered them together with some string, and they formed into a perfect miniature sun.
As Bird carefully flew back down through the clouds, the happy little sunshine followed him.
Bunny felt the air get warmer and brighter, and a huge smile grew on his face.
"Thank you so much, Bird! Some days you just have to create your own sunshine!"

If you place an order in the next few weeks, one of these ACEO prints might be coming to you!

Blood! Real blood! Am I going to die?!

Look! Blood! Real blood! Am I going to die?!

A real life work related injury! 'Have you had an accident at work that wasn't your fault?...Oh, Wait! It totally was my fault!'

I still didn't do it cutting!! I was opening a pack of blades! This leads me to remind you all of blade safety. Those little rascals are SHARP! PLEASE be ever so careful when you need to change your blades.

Use this handy blade removal box to remove your old blade -
http://www.paperpandacuts.co.uk/papercutting-crafting-supplies-c41/blade-handle-supplies-c53/swann-morton-papercutting-supplies-swann-morton-blade-removal-disposal-unit-p217

Open the new packet carefully - For Example; Don't use your teeth ;)

Use some pliers or other grips to place the new blade into your handle. - Keep the on the opposite edge of the cutting edge, so you don't dull the fresh cutting surface with your scratchy grips!
Luckily it didn't get on the finished papercut, which you can see here - with my cheery smiling chops!

ACEO madness!

SO this week I'm going to talk about the wonderful world of ACEOs.

So what are ACEOs?
ACEO is an acronym that stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals. You probably have also heard the ONLY rule is the size, which is 2.5 x 3.5 inches (6.4 x 8.9 cms)
Once you have your ACEO cards ready to go its all about putting anything you like on them :) For PP that has been some of Mr P's incredible art! They have been released in sets each month for most of 2015. They have proved to be one of PP's most popular product! (Shhhh don't tell him I said this but he is a little bit amazing)

More recently I have created some ACEOs of my own, featuring the woodland friends and some wonderful sayings and quotes. If you keep an eye on the Paper Panda facebook page they will be popping up quite regularly, AND if you like what you see, we are popping an ACEO in all orders that are posted from PPHQ :D so you get the chance to grab one of these ACEOs absolutely free.

Info about the new Woodland Friends aceos....
They will never be for sale in the PP shop.
There will always be one of two designs that go into every single order that we physically post (unless we're suddenly taken ill/printer dies/you all get sick of them) that comes from PPHQ (to clarify, that's paper, blades, magnets, cards, mirrors, knives, mats, kits, keyrings, books, frames... Most things - if you're unsure just ask admin).
No minimum order amount.
If it's forgotten then blame Nanny P for falling asleep at the desk again and ask for another extra in your next order.
The two designs will be changed for a fresh two every couple of weeks.
You won't be notified of the change.
You can sell, swop or keep them, it's up to you!
Once a design is gone then it's gone.
You'll see then pop up on the page first, unless I hate it then it'll be an aceo at some point.
They are all prints but are hand signed.
They only started going into every order from yesterday (6th).
Um, I hope you like them!

Blue Cross Burford Rehoming Centre.

We popped a 'little' event up to help raise as much money as possible for the Blue Cross for Pets in lieu of Christmas gifts for me. To help the animals have a good Christmas and more is all the presents I need! Well... along with a few little fund raising pots throughout the year We raised almost £4000 for the Blue Cross Burford Rehoming Centre thanks to you super generous people!

You can still donate to the lovely guys if you wish, they do lots of fabulous work and a few of my furbabies are from there too! Perfect!
